Kobi Kurtz, BSc, MBA – Chairman
Kobi Kurtz is the founder and CEO of the business development consultant group Kurtz Marketing & Management in Rotterdam. He has a background as head of high-tech systems development in Israel but decided to start his own business after earning his MBA from the RSM, Erasmus University. With his roots in Israel, Mr. Kurtz has been particularly successful in developing partnerships between the high tech industry and academia in Israel and the Netherlands.
Wim van Sluis, RA – Treasurer
Wim va n Sluis is a co-founder and partner of the accounting firm Daamen & Van Sluis . He is also the chairman of Rotterdam Port Promotion Council and furthermore serves as a board member of, among others, the Rotterdam Climate Initiative and the Dutch National Port Council. He previously served as the deputy mayor of Rotterdam, covering areas such as the port, economics, environment and unemployment.
Henk van Esch, MBA – Secretary
Henk van Esch is a biomedical / electrical engineer and holds an MBA from Nyenrode University / Northwestern University. He had his first experience with the new biomedical area in the Technion in the 70’s. After a career in different companies as R & D, Corporate Strategy, Business and Research Manager (Océ; ICT Automation; SKF), he is now interim manager and innovation management consultant in his own company.
Thomas M. Cohn
Thomas Cohn was active for 40 years in several economic and financial positions at Siemens in different countries, the last 10 years as CEO and Chairman of Siemens in The Netherlands. He earned for his economic contribution 3 important distinctions from 3 countries: Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands. He lives now in Israel, where he is advising start-up companies in the High-tech sector. He is also a member of the Supervisory Board of Dutch companies among them TATASTEEL NL and PBQL.
Prof. Gabriel Krestin, MD, PhD
Prof. Krestin is the head of the Radiology department within the Erasmus MC and he is involved in various international radiology associations. Professor Krestin is the President of the European Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and Biology ( ESMRMB ) and founder and pastor of the Association of University Radiologists Europe (AURE), chair of the Research Committee of EAR, and serves on the editorial board of several international journals (Radiology, European Radiology, Abdominal Imaging, Investigative Radiology, MagMa, The Radiologist).
Alejandro Sanz, PhD
Alejandro Sanz is an innovation excellence strategist. He is passionate about advancing entrepreneurial business, rethinking positions in corporate environments (Safran, Danieli, SKF), and private practice (SaGaX). Alejandro is a guest professor at the Chinese Academy of Industry, the Information Technology Integration created by the Chinese Ministry of Industry & information, and the Beijing Institute of Technology. Alejandro is a UK and European chartered engineer. He is an international Certified Management Consultant (CMC). Beside executive education (Havard, MIT-Sloan, IMD, Wharton); Alejandro holds a PhD from the National Superior School of Aeronautics and Space (Sup’Aéro) (France).
